Calling all train-lovers During Trefoil’s 75th birthday year, 1,300 members met at 11 different steam railway stations for ‘Meet-Up, Steam-Up’ parties. ‘For the finale, 35 “Trekkies” travelled from Swindon to Windsor via nine counties to meet with members in their local areas!’ says Frances Parrett, South West England.

Go the distance Ninety Trefoil members from around the UK completed last year’s 75km trail in the Peak District. ‘We walked up hill and down dale to places with strange names, such as Hagg Farm, Snake Pass and Cutthroat Bridge,’ says Ann Hall, National Programme and Development Adviser.

The big meet In June, to share friendships old and new, Trefoil members headed to Southport. ‘Our annual meeting always reminds me that we really are part of a very special movement,’ says Trefoil Guild President Liz Burnley.

International adventures This three-year project working with RADS (Russian Association of Girl Scouts) helped to bring guiding to new cities. ‘We travelled from Lithuania to Kaliningrad, Moscow, Ukhta and finally St Petersburg,’ says team member Jennifer Bluck, ‘sharing the spirit of guiding wherever we went.’ A new project is soon to launch in Lesotho.
