Join the Trefoil Guild's anniversary celebrations
The Trefoil Guild is celebrating its 80th Anniversary in 2023, and they have a wide range of activities for you to complete with your guild, county, region, unit, friends and even your family! Here are five ways to celebrate 80 years of the Trefoil Guild.
1. Take up the challenge
Trefoil members have designed a fun-filled challenge pack for everyone to have a go at, from Rainbows to the Chief Guide. Choose 4 challenges from the ‘community action’ theme, and 4 from the ‘80’s challenges’ theme. With so many ideas to try, why not work the challenges into your meetings across the term or have one whole evening dedicated to the challenge?
2. Get the badge
They couldn’t celebrate their 80th anniversary and design a challenge without creating a badge too! You can get your badge from the Girlguiding shop and join the celebrations.
3. From small acorns to giant oaks
The theme of the anniversary celebrates the journey of Trefoil Guild. They started out as Guides who didn’t want their Girlguiding journey to end, so they planted their own seeds under the branches of Girlguiding. Now, 80 years later, they’re still growing strong and tall, with their own branches reaching out to give support to each other and the Girlguiding family.
4. Events around the UK
The Trefoil members have chosen lots of ways to celebrate this milestone. Members in North West England will be throwing a bonanza at Blackpool Tower. And members in London and the South East of England, are turning the south coast red by heading to their local beach on 1 July dressed in red. Why don’t you head out to join them? It’s the perfect time to find friendship and have fun while you’re doing it!
5. What's next for the Trefoil?
There's a host of other events for Trefoil members this year, like their activity weekend in Derbyshire – the Gathering – or their walk in Devon in September. If you’re looking for a space to get involved in something new then the 80th Trefoil year could be your first. To find out more, find your local Trefoil, or to start your own visit trefoilguild.co.uk.
