How you can support at home
Here are 3 things you can do to help your child have the best possible experience with Girlguiding.
Interest badges
Interest badges are made to be done wherever girls choose. That could be at home, in unit meetings, on holiday or somewhere else!
Girls can do them individually or with friends and family. From blogging to dancing, girls can pick badges that interest them using our badge finder. The full list of challenges are in your child’s badge book.
Keep your GO info updated
GO is our membership system that safely stores personal information like your address and emergency contact details. Please keep your details on GO up to date, as well as any requirements or access needs your child has so our volunteers can keep everyone safe.
You can set up communication preferences on GO to receive marketing newsletters for parents and carers.
Help out
Did you know that local guiding is run by volunteers? We know you’re busy – but you can give your time flexibly and it still makes a big difference to girls’ lives.
You can help twice per term before you need to officially register as a volunteer. So you could offer up 1 evening this term to support the volunteers who run your local guiding unit. Or help tidy up after a unit meeting or do the shopping for an event.
