Girlguiding impact report
Our methodology
Girlguiding has been on a journey to understand and measure our impact since 2019, and we’re excited to share our latest insights and the robust and rigorous methodology that sits behind them. The findings in this report reproduce and build on findings from our first impact report in 2023, telling a consistent story of the relationship between Girlguiding girls and confidence.
In 2023, we published our impact report using a new methodology to calculate the difference Girlguiding makes for girls across the UK. As part of this work, we developed key tools including our theory of change and impact framework. Since then, we’ve refined our approach and updated our methodology, giving us an even clearer picture of Girlguiding’s impact. We have also broadened our approach to better understand our influence over younger members.
Between November 2024 and December 2025, we delivered 3 surveys based on our theory of change with a representative sample of over 10,000, or 4% of Girlguiding's young members. Each survey asked about their experiences and the impact Girlguiding has on their lives.
To better understand the impact of Girlguiding on girls and volunteers with different lived experiences, we’ve used advanced statistical analysis.
